FeverDots are easier to see than other forehead sticker thermometers.
FeverDots provides continuous temperature monitoring to protect you and those around you in real-time.
What are the benefits of FeverDots?
· Easy to use · Easy to see · Affordable · Reliable ·
The FeverDot consists of a black thermochromic coating over a sticker substrate. The color remains black on cooler surfaces and turns to purple and then to bright pink as temperature increases.
Forehead temperature is generally a degree cooler than core body temperature. For most people normal forehead temperature is 97°F. However, when the internal body temperature rises, so does the forehead surface temperature.
Color can be measured by its red, green, blue value. Black has low color values and pink has high red value with lower green and blue values. The color of an activated FeverDot begins as black or purple, but quickly takes on increasing red tones as its temperature rises. At 99°F the activated FeverDot is bright pink, as indicated by the high red values in the graph.
Activate color by heating them to FULL PINK. This can be done by warming them with a hairdryer or by holding them (still on release paper) to the outside of a cup of hot liquid. Once warmed to full pink, allow them to cool back to black. This activation lasts up to a week, however, FeverDots can be activated daily if desired.
Once activated, peel off a FeverDot from the sticker strip and apply directly and firmly to clean dry forehead. Within a moment the FeverDot will give an indication of the temperature. A FeverDot that is black or purple indicates that the forehead temperature is below 99°F. If the FeverDot is bright pink, it indicates that the forehead is 99°F or greater and the core temperature is 100°F or greater,
Wear the FeverDot continuously to monitor temperature. If the skin has been heated by an external heat source, such as the sun or fireplace, the FeverDot may turn pink. To monitor core temperature, move away from the heat source and hold a cool object to the FeverDot. In this way the color of the FeverDot can be returned to black and skin temperature monitoring can begin again. If the FeverDot turns to bright pink when not exposed to external heat source, the body temperature may be elevated, and it is time to use a thermometer.
After a day, replace the FeverDot with a new FeverDot and continue to monitor temperature.
NOTE: Keep FeverDots out of sunlight when not in use. Exposure to UV light will hinder color change.
NOTE: FeverDots are not intended to be a medical device. Use a thermometer to confirm temperature.
